About Pelican Preserve Golf Club (Fort Myers, FL)
Located in north Fort Myers lays one of the finest courses in Southwest Florida. In keeping his reputation of designing top quality golf courses along Florida's Gulf Coast, Chip Powell has done it again with Pelican Preserve Golf Club. The design features abounding water, sand and grass hollow hazards that are perfectly complemented by generous landing areas and gentle contouring of TifEagle "Ultradwarf" greens. Players will have a memorable golf experience from the moment they step up to the first tee to the moment they hole out on one of the best finishing holes anywhere, the 444-yard Par-4 eighteenth. This dogleg right finishing hole not only features its challenge in length, but also requires a precise tee shot to avoid a nasty cluster of bunkers at the dogleg and to avoid the water hazard that lurks just through the fairway. Golfers will then be faced with a mid-iron to the green protected to the left by a bunker and the water hazard.

Dolores Svehla (Ellicott City, MD) says:
This course was way too fast for our play. They would not let us take a break at all and the marshall told us to pck up the pace though the 4-some in front of us were holding us up. It was a beautiful course and very well maintained. You could tell it was an expensive course and very well kept, but we liked playing Copperhead better because it was not as fast paced.

Paul (Budd Lake, NJ) says:
The course is part of a 55 and older community that is open to the public. We played on a Sunday morning and the pace was fine. But even the starter said that it can get pretty slow on the course. The course was in excellent shape and we all enjoyed it. Pelican is about three miles from the airport in Ft. Myers.

A very nice course with 27 holes offering variety of play options. Very accomodating staff and good replay rates. Great conditions despite an awful winter. We played here last year and would play again.

Douglas (Coral Springs, FL) says:
The only drawback to this course is that there wasn't a hole layout at the tees or on the scorecard.

Pat (Brockport, NY) says:
The course is very nice. The club house is really off limits to people who aren't members. Lunch "special" is a hot dog and a beverage. Not what I would expect from what appears to be an upscale facility. Likewise, the members have a great place on the practice facility driving range; visitors are once again made to feel like second class citizens. I was considering looking at property at this location but was not impressed with the two tiered approach which is being employed

Samuel (Verona, WI) says:
A very nice course which was in great condition. The pace of play was a little slow, but the ranger was very pleasant. Heron was the better of the two courses we played, Ibis a little flatter, but nice.
