HIGHLANDS RESERVE GOLF CLUBDAVENPORT, FL Set atop one of the highest areas in the region, Highlands Reserve is not your typical Florida golf course. This championship design by Mike Dasher gives you tree-lined fairways reminiscent of the Carolinas, open spacious fairways likened to the great Scottish courses, and a bit of old Florida with citrus trees dotting the countryside. Large, fast, undulating greens make this course challenging and fun for all levels of golfers with water coming into play (barely) on just one hole, #10. It's a very sporty course and although it's a tad shorter in length, it can still be a "wee tough" if your game's not on! Conveniently located just minutes from the Walt Disney World area, Highlands Reserve is a Central Florida favorite! 11/10/2008 - Poor conditions and mostly straight ahead holes in the wide open (blah). The "starter" had 3 groups on the first tee at the same time which made no sense at all. Pace was slow with a lot of older players. Beverage cart said on hole #2 she'd be around 3-4 more times. We next saw her at the turn parked in the garage for the day. 04/13/2008 - This is a fun course to play. Wide fairways and large sloping greens with very little trouble areas make this a player friendly course. The course was extemely busy for the third week of March and our group was unable to schedule a replay. Definately would recommend playing if you have the chance. 03/10/2008 - Always the course we return to every year since 2001. We play 36 holes and have a great time. Guy at the check in was a bit harsh, but that could just be the East Coast in him. Loved the starter (a lady). Definitely gave a hard time to one of our group who deserves it every time. I never shoot well there, but always love to come and play anyway. See you next year!
