MISSION INN GOLF RESORT - LAS COLINASHOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, FL Mission Inn's Las Colinas ("The Hills") was built in 1992 and designed by former PGA Tour player and TV commentator, Gary Koch. Just rated 4 stars by Golf Digest's "Best Places To Play, 2008/2009" and nominated as Golf Digest's 1992 "Best New Resort Course," Las Colinas offers quite a different challenge from El Campeon. Its wide open fairways and gently rolling hills create an inland links design that contrasts and at the same time, compliments its older sister course. Greens are large and undulating, while the course's classic old architecture style demands proper shot placement. Water can be found on 14 holes and again, large berms are found to framework numerous fairways. Discover nature in its natural habitat along with abundant wildlife where this championship layout was carved out of yesteryear's orange groves. Watch out for the treacherous signature par-five, 12th hole (nicknamed "Alligator Alley")! |

05/05/2008 - Very disappointing when compared to its sister course, El Campeon. We played El Campeon in the morning and then Las Colinas in the afternoon. Very strange layout. Lots of driving between holes. Not nearly in the same condition or class as El Campeon. Consider passing or play El Campeon again. Posted by Rick (Chesapeake, VA)

03/06/2008 - Good companion course to El Campeon for a wonderful 36 hole day of golf, but it's a notch below El Campeon. Some nicely redesigned holes completed in 2007 - although the mix in holes makes you feel like you are playing different courses at times throughout your round.
