About Deer Island Country Club (Deer Island, FL)
Deer Island Club is the centerpiece of a remote 400-acre island that separates beautiful Lake Dora and Lake Beauclaire. The shoreline is rimmed with ancient oaks, pines, palms and cypress trees, along with panoramic views of quaint Mt. Dora in the background. Most likely you'll even catch a glimpse of lounging native alligators along the lake banks. Although water borders all 18 holes, the course is eminently fair and will not penalize a good shot. Architect Joe Lee called Deer Island the "most unique course I've ever designed." An excellent value, this course is well worth the drive to Mt. Dora, 40 minutes northwest of Orlando. Experience this "Island Retreat!"

Probably the most dificult course we play on this trip due to the ammount of water and the course layout. We may be better off to play a less difficult course.

Nice course , Great variation of holes course was in great condition Not too sure about the yardage markers . Guy in the pro shop was a bit unfriendly . Overall I really liked this course and would love to play it again.

What great course! A fabulous design that makes you use every club in your bag. The best selection of Par 3's that I've played in a long time. The large fingered bunkers and well placed water hazards frame this great design. We loved it! The long drive was worth it!

Beautiful layout, but very windy. Saw a couple of bald eagles. Don't know if this is always the case being situated on an island - if it is cold and windy, you're gonna feel it good and deep for sure. If not, this course is worth the hour's drive from Orlando

ONE OF MY FAVORITE COURSES. IT TAKES A WHILE TO GET THERE BUT WELL WORTH THE RIDE. THE WILDLIFE THERE IS FANTASTIC. ALSO, YOU CAN'T BEAT THE PRICE FOR SUCH A NICE COURSE.
